On "Romancing Nashville," Matt interprets classics made famous
by Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow, Stevie Wonder, The Righteous Brothers, Michael
Buble and more.
"The album is a collection of personal favorites, as well as audience favorites"
says Matt. "These are songs I've always wanted to record"
Matt puts a fresh stamp on classic standards on his self-produced album and
debut release for his new label, MB Records. Produced in Nashville, with
the assistance of phenomenal arranger Alan McPike of Scotland and
Co-Producer/Sound Engineer Daniel Dennis of Dennis Productions from Nashville.
Brother Day, former trumpet player for Ray Charles also appears on two tracks.
Together a fantastic album was born and is almost ready to be heard by the
world! "Recording the album in Nashville and working with such great people
was the best experience for me, says Matt. "I knew I was in good hands."
The album has a much more contemporary "smooth jazz" sound than anything Matt
has recorded. From the up-tempo Disco/Latin flavors of Barry Manilow's
"Copacabana", classics such as Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin", an
up-tempo big band arrangement of Stevie Wonder's "You Are The Sunshine of My Life",
the smooth, sultry Burt Bacharach / Hal David gem "The Look of Love" to the
bittersweet "Home" by Michael Buble, there is something here for every taste.
Just in time for the Christmas Season, "it's a great album to enjoy this time of year - it's music that
makes you want to snuggle up by the fireplace with that special person and sip a
warm cappuccino".
